Dighton hosted the Northwest Kansas League Art Show on April 6-8 for the second year.  Hoxie had three booths, one each for grade school, middle school, and high school.  Each booth was awarded one best of show and 15 blue ribbons.  This year’s grade school best of show went to fifth grader Zoey Storer for a value painting with trees silhouette.  The judge remarked that it had “nice gradation, and nice fullness of trees,” and it was “good clean work.”   The middle school best of show went to seventh grader Baylee McKenna for a plaster bird of a pink flamingo.  The judge commented on that it had “great detail and it is a nice whimsical piece and was structurally sound.”  The high school best of show went to senior Erica Kinderknecht for her colorful drawing of a pickup.  The judge remarked it had “wonderful colors and blending” and “nice textures and color gradation on the grass.”
