Federal Transportation Mask Mandate
Greetings Indian Nation!! First, I want to take a minute to tell you how excited I am to be your new Superintendent/K-6 principal. The start of school is just a week away and we are busy making sure everything is in place for another successful year at Hoxie Community Schools. The start of sports practice is Monday, August 16th and the first day for K-12 students is Wednesday, August 18th.
I do want to inform everybody of a new United States Federal Order that “Requires persons to wear masks while on conveyances and at transportation hubs”. What does this mean for USD 412? Masks will be worn by all students and staff while being transported in USD 412 vehicles and busses. Please understand that this is not an administrative, Board of Education, or Kansas Department of Education directive but a Federal Order. Failure to follow this mandate has the potential to impact USD 412 federal dollars that are in the neighborhood of 1 million dollars. Also please be aware that our bus drivers and administration will not be mask police but recognize the impact that not following the directive might have on our district. A copy of the Federal Order will be posted below for your review. Please feel free to contact the district office (675-3258) if you have any questions or concerns.
I look forward to the beginning of the school year and the great things that are ahead of the students and staff of USD 412. GO INDIANS!! Casey Robinson
