Lied Across Kansas Visits Hoxie Grade School
The Lied Across Kansas program visited Hoxie Grade School and performed for students on Thursday, April 9th. The Lied Across Kansas program, established in 2015, brings world-class performing artists to rural and underserved communities across the state, offering free, high-quality performances, workshops, and artist conversations. They did three performances with our grade school kids. Two of the performances were 30-minute interactive performances where they talked about the emotions that you can hear in music and the kids asked a lot of questions about their instruments and where they were from.
The 5th- and 6th-graders spent more time with the performers. They also had a "concert," but our kids also sang for them! They sang songs that they will perform at our upcoming concert, and the performers gave them feedback.
