Launch the media gallery 1 playerSaturday, December 7, 2019, Hoxie Indians held the first wrestling tournament of the season. Hoxie hosted 8 teams including Colby, Oakley, Lakin, Oberlin, Cimmaron, Plainville, Hugoton and Tribune. Hoxie took second place as a team, just behind Colby in first.
Individual results in each weight division are as follows: At 106, Tate Weimer (Fr), placed third. At 113, Dayton Bell (Fr), placed first and JV 113, Wayne Shepard (Fr) placed fourth. At 120, Drew Bretz (Fr), placed second, and at 126, Drew Bell (So), placed first. At 132, Derek Johnson (Fr), placed first. At 138, Ryan Shaw (Fr), placed third and at JV 138, Macon Sekavec (Fr), wrestled but did not place (DNP). 145 was open for the Indians, and at 152, Aidan Baalman (Jr), placed first. At 160, Andrew Foote (Sr), placed third. At 170, Ben Aumiller (Sr), DNP, and at 182, Donvan Balluch (Jr), DNP, and 195 and 220 was open for the Indians. Finally, at 285 was Brandon Baker (So) who placed third.
In the girls' division, at 136, Marissa Porsch (So), placed first and was also the Outstanding Wrestler in the girls' division. At 143, Ashlyn Kaus (Sr), also placed first.
