HHS Anatomy and Physiology Class Hands-On Learning Experience
By Iauna King
Senior Mariah Barnett holds up a piece of her dissection, while her lab partner, senior Malcom King, works on dissecting the rest of their animal. The HHS Anatomy and Physiology class has been dissenting so many things with their teacher Christine Jumper. I asked Mrs. Jumper and Mariah Barnett how they felt about the dissections. “It's wonderful because they learn so much better than reading it in a book. The students have dissected a worm, frog, crawfish, dogfish shark, and next they will dissect a squid,” said Mrs. Jumper. “It's pretty good, a little disgusting; my favorite thing to dissect was the shark,” said senior Mariah Barnett.
