Hoxie High School took a junior varsity team to the Trego Community Scholars Bowl Tournament on Monday, Nov. 4.  Hoxie’s junior varsity team consisted of senior Quenton Rucker, junior Lisa Stone, sophomore Tabor Rucker, and freshmen Jacob Munk, Noah Smith, Skyler Denio, and Katelyn Reitcheck.  The team took third place in the tournament.  They were defeated by Decatur Community High who took second place, and Hays High – Gold Team who took first place in the tournament.  Other schools that participated in the tournament were, Hays- Maroon Team, Ellis, Norton, and Russell.  Hoxie’s high scorers were Jacob Munk with 180 points, Quenton Ruckert with 160 points and Tabor Rucker with a total of 130 points.   

The next scholars’ bowl tournament is Monday, Nov. 18 at Rawlins County High School.
