Heskett Wins Topeka Zoo Art Contest

Congratulations to Hilde Heskett for winning the Topeka Zoo art contest for the 9th to 12th grade division! Students were to draw an image that would raise awareness of any real-life conservation issue. Hilde’s drawing was of a sea turtle stuck in a fisherman’s net. This was Hoxie’s second year entering this contest. Hilde will receive a certificate and her choice of a family zoo membership, a painting done by an animal, or a $40 gift certificate at the zoo’s gift shop. Her drawing was displayed on April 19th at the zoo during the “Party for the Planet” celebration.
